The puppies are born and raised in my house, with special care and attention to their health and development. Interaction and handling from birth helps to insure early human bonding.  The puppies are socialized in a positive, educational and stimulating environment that brings out the breed’s famous “Lassie” personality.  As they mature they are exposed to a variety of enriching experiences that gently widens their scope and teaches them self confidence.  They learn to interact with other dogs, cats, kids, and even horses! Thistlebrae offers lifelong support and a five year genetic health guarantee.

Since the puppies are allowed to have outdoor playtime from an early age, they quickly learn to eliminate outside, and house-breaking is usually relatively easy.  My puppy owners are astonished at how easy it is to train Thistle Brae collies.  On the physical side, the pups are de-wormed, vaccinated and vet-checked.  Each pup carries a micro-chip for identification, should this ever become necessary.

It is my intent is to raise healthy, well-adjusted puppies with the potential to become esteemed family members and good canine citizens.  We highly recommend that every pup attend puppy classes with their new owner. We like to remind new puppy parents that collies are an active breed that requires considerable daily exercise. Also, collies can become barkers if they are bored or lonely, so you must be prepared to spend time with your pet. I put a great deal of emphasis on screening all puppy buyers, because we care for our dogs and wish to insure they have PERMANENT loving homes with the family that best suits them.  My puppies are only sold to families or individuals.  It is against my ethics as a responsible breeder to sell to puppy mills, pet shops or brokers.
